June, 2025: over 300 Sites

Internet for Humanity (I4) recently reached a major achievement. Over 320 of our basic “Five-Computer Information/CommunicationsTechnology Centres” (5C ITCTs) have been installed, AND are all currently active! Each site serves an immediate population of at least 800 direct user beneficiaries.

When high schools formally agree to offer ICT education to students from surrounding smaller schools, I4H implements “Double ITCTs” of 10 computers, rather than the standard 5 computers, to serve combined student populations of over 1,500; we even have one “Triple ITCT” of 15 computers, serving a combined student population of over 2,500!

The 321 current “5C ITCT” equivalents are located in 211 locations throughout Uganda as follows:
Agriculture: 15 sites (12 Farmer Co-ops & 3 Farmer Credit Unions);
Medical: 10 sites (5 Primary-Care Clinics, 3 Pharmacies, 1 Medical Laboratory Technician school, 1 Nursing school) Educational: 186 sites (137 High Schools & 49 Community/Vocational Schools)

These 211 sites are drops in the ocean of need! The current waiting list of qualified beneficiary organizations * is over 400 in Uganda alone. Hundreds more, in Uganda and surrounding countries, have requested screening, but we can’t spend resources screening beneficiary candidates when we don’t have funding to follow through with ICTCs.
We are always actively soliciting funds which will go directly toward more ICTCs; computers, routers/printers, and training/mentoring!

* Note: a qualified beneficiary organization 1) has secure facilities for the ICTC lab; 2) has agreed to co-fund 25% of ICTC hardware cost, and 3) has demonstrated ability to pay for ongoing internet data & system administrators (to be trained by I4H as part of installation).
